Zamalek, Giza, Egypt

Perched within a 1950s building in Gezira, this Cairo penthouse by Shewekar Elgharably brings together sculptural craftsmanship, collected pieces, and contemporary living in a warm and expressive interior.

Designed by
Shewekar Elgharably

The design is built around a dialogue between architecture, art, and objects. A carved timber staircase forms the visual centerpiece of the apartment, introducing a strong sense of craft that continues throughout the space. Vintage furniture, artworks, antiques, and contemporary pieces are composed together to create an interior with depth and individuality.

Rich materials, earthy tones, and intricate details add warmth to the rooms, while the carefully layered collection gives the home a sense of history and place. The result is an eclectic interior that feels deeply personal, rooted in Egyptian character while remaining distinctly contemporary.
