Nour El Refai ↗Giza, Egypt 2024

Photographing the house is an experience of moving between contrasts. Textured concrete surfaces meet soft interiors, while expansive openings draw the surrounding landscape into everyday life. The swimming pool becomes a focal point throughout the property, framed by sculptural planting and open terraces. Inside, handcrafted materials, custom furniture and works by Egyptian artists add layers of character without overwhelming the architecture.

Between Art and Architecture
Set within sight of the Giza Pyramids, this private residence by DB Architects unfolds through a series of carefully composed spaces. Rich textures, natural light and a collection of Egyptian art shape a home that feels deeply connected to its setting while looking firmly toward the present.

What stands out most is the relationship between the home and its surroundings. Whether looking toward the pyramids, across the pool or through the changing daylight, every space feels connected to the landscape beyond. The result is a residence that feels both contemporary and unmistakably Egyptian.
