A Spiritual Sanctuary in Pink Concrete
Located on the outskirts of Dhaka, Zebun Nessa Mosque is a monolithic pink concrete structure designed by Studio Morphogenesis. Set at the edge of an existing waterbody within a fast-growing industrial area, the mosque provides a spiritual sanctuary and a breathing space for local workers. The project places particular emphasis on inclusion, with a crescent-shaped mezzanine providing a gathering and prayer space for women. Its connection to the surrounding waterbody and landscape creates an atmosphere of openness, calm, and reflection.

The ablution area continues the mosque’s emphasis on creating a spiritual experience. Its rustic pink mosaic floor transforms into a calming turquoise color, symbolizing tranquility and inner peace. Wudu represents more than physical cleansing; it is a ritual of purification and a reminder to cleanse the heart and soul. At Zebun Nessa Mosque, this idea becomes part of the architecture, connecting everyday ritual with a deeper sense of reflection and spirituality.
