North Coast, Egypt 2025

This seasonal boutique translates artisanal jewelry heritage into a light, coastal vernacular. Located on Egypt's North Coast, the design strips away heavy retail opulence in favor of organic textures, earthy tones, and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. Photographed by Sara Almasry, the space explores how cultural craftsmanship can feel entirely at home by the sea.

A Beach Left Behind

Approached through a wide architectural arch, the interior trades traditional luxury retail formulas for a tactile, grounded palette. Smooth terrazzo floors and soft beige plaster walls sit beneath a warm wooden ceiling structured with native bamboo reeds. At the center, an unconventional installation of woven sunhats repurposed as pendant lights hangs over a custom ash wood display table, casting a diffused glow that mirrors the ease of summer days.

The boutique's character lies in its quiet contrasts. Intricate gold and silver pieces are housed in minimalist glass cases and deep blue velvet niches inset directly into the textured plaster walls. These deep blue displays pop against the sandy backdrop, making the jewelry feel like treasures uncovered from the sea. By letting natural materials speak, the space allows heritage craft to coexist with an unhurried coastal rhythm.
